AltaVista Proxy
Cyfin is designed to work with AltaVista Proxy. Your Cyfin system can be configured in two ways, either as an on-box or off-box solution.
Cyfin installed directly on Alta Vista Proxy ("on-box")
Logfile Setup
Logfile Type: Alta Vista
Default Directory: C:\winnt\system32\logs
Configuration Notes
If Cyfin is installed directly on the Alta Vista proxy machine, no special arrangements are needed for configuration.
Cyfin is installed on a server other than Alta Vista Proxy ("off-box")

FTP Arrangements: If your logfiles are currently being FTP'd, please determine the destination server/directory. If you plan to install Cyfin on the server where Alta Vista logfiles reside, no further action is needed. If not, configure your logs to be scheduled for FTP transfer to the server Cyfin is installed on. The Cyfin default directory for Alta Vista logfiles is C:\winnt\system32\logs, but it can easily be changed.
Configuration Notes
Cyfin needs access to the Alta Vista logfiles in order to run reports. You can either FTP them to the Cyfin machine, or put them on a mounted network drive that Cyfin can access. We recommend scheduling the logfiles to be FTP'd to the Cyfin machine for the least amount of strain on your network.
